Southern Pacific 4-8-8-2 Cab Forward Steam Locomotive & Tender

This is a very rare and unusual find. 

This model is likely from the 1957 Run.  This model comes to us from a gentleman that purchased this item in 1958 and has been the single owner. This model has some pro's & con's.

First the Pro's.  Obviously a very rare model, in mint condition worth close to $10,000.00.  And virtually impossible to find.  Amazing early craftsmanship.  We do believe that the paint is original, not sure about the lettering...  It may be Original as well but both are very poor as was the case with these models. The lettering on the cab says "AC-8" - Overall, this loco may not look amazing but for how old and rare it is, it is in Excellent Condition... All the parts are here, none of the railings are broken, all the brake shoes are in-tact, all the steps and ladders are in-tact so it is a very structurally complete Collectors Model.

The model Runs Well and has an operating Headlight! (only the front set of drivers is powered).

The problems are as follows.  there is a broken detail from the smoke stack but it is included - the front uncoupling bar has a bent part - there are some paint nicks and blemishes here and there - Unfortunately the builder plate is not on this model

The original wood presentation box is included, which is a very important piece for the collector.  Box label just says "SP 4-8-8-2 Special"
