Southern Railway TS Mountain Class 4-8-2
One sold at the Knopf auction years ago for $15,000.00 (I believe that was the price before auction house fees were added in, bringing the total price so somewhere around $18,000), custom painted, without the box.
Open Frame motor. Runs well. Model does have a slight hesitation on reverse but is only present at slow speeds.
No operating lights
There are a couple of minor paint chips. Please be sure to check out the pictures.
Model has a coal load installed.
This model has what is likely the original box, but unfortunately there is no label. Often the typewritten labels fell off and were lost through the years.
Many built up parts, built up back head detail
Built up trailing truck
Tender has excellent rivet detail, appears to be hand punched.
The model is very nicely custom painted. Paint is well done with some very small paint chips.
All-time classic model. One of the finest early handbuilt models.
The model will ship in a Reboxx and the 'original' box will be shipped separately with the model
