We unwrapped these cars for the first time - The previous owner never took them out of the box!
Introduced in April 1922, by 1930, SP’s Daylight, operating between Los Angeles and San Francisco, had taken its place as one of the finest trains in the country. That April, the exterior of the train was painted in pearl gray to commemorate its success.
