HO Key Imports, Made in Korea by SKI. NYC, New York Central 4-6-2 K-11F Road #4580. The model has full in-cab detail and a can motor. It runs well. It does not have operating headlights. NYC Expert Jim Walsh adds :"NYC K-11 and K-14 Pacific's have been modeled in Brass only ONCE. The project was especially difficult as no mechanical drawings could be located. Only the specification sheet was available. The NYC Historical Society was fearful that had been destroyed by the RR when they vacated the Lexington Ave. Engineering Office in New York City. The construction of these models were overseen by a Society expert, Rich Stoving in the late 1980s. Drawings were created by Rich from the specification sheet major dimensions and photographs, a tedious process. SKI was the builder and these were some of the last models made by SKI before they became the exclusive subcontractor for Tenshodo that by then was building mostly JNR models for the domestic Japanese market. K-11's and K-14s were used NYC system wide and ran right to the end of steam in the 1950s. The K-11 was especially well known as the standard passenger power on the Adirondack Division and many a Ski Train was drawn by them right up to the early 1950s. K-11 and K-14's last stronghold was on commuter trains running into New York City. Given the rarity of these quality models and the virtual certainty they will never be modeled again, they are are must for the serious NYC Steam Collector."
